Cockpit closeup with seat and pilot in place. Getting the hand-to-stick alignment is a bear.

Seat details to match photos of hero prop from the auction. That’s guitar string and some brass tubing.

It’s getting real now! Fuselage light blocked, fiber and lights installed in the cockpit, TLCduino board connected to power. Hope it all fits!!!

The addition of this header plug will let me reprogram the microcontroller after the Viper is all sealed up.

I have been building models all my life. My Dad co-owned the local hobby shop. I started working there at 8 years old so I could afford to buy the AMT Enterprise. I've been chasing kits ever since. I studied Scene Design and Technical Theatre in the Theatre Department at The University at Buffalo, and worked on a great number of on- and off-campus productions designing and building props and sets, lighting, sound (and a bit of acting). In the 1980's I had the opportunity to turn my passion into a job. I was hired to build architectural subjects at Carolina Architectural Models in Raleigh, NC, later known as Scale Model and Display Studios. Some time later, while working for Tri-Star Design Group in Raleigh NC, I did plastics fabrication and design, leading to some of the most challenging subjects of my career, including props and scenery for the motion picture industry. More recently, I'm designing a shelf-scale, resin printed model of the Tachi / Rocinante / Pinus Contorta from The Expanse. Watch this space!
